I'm discovered! ha ha. The local newspaper came out Tuesday and did and interview with me. I didn't know when it was going to be published and so I was tickled to see it in the paper today. Who knows people may be asking for my autograph soon........I may have to come out of my shell yet!!

A Commercial!

I got roped into doing commercial for the shop ( The Shabby Red Door, 826 W. Gurley St. Prescott, Arizona) . I went into it kicking and screaming, because as some of you may know, promoting myself is not something that comes easy for me.
I think it came out pretty good though and I am happy that with their editing I'm only in the shot at the end.
Gotta do what you gotta do...I suppose.
Hope you are all having a lovely Thanksgiving. Don't forget to count your blessings!
Happy Day,
Susie

So Thankful!

I'm so thankful for this shop and that Don and I have the ability to live here as well.
To live, and have my studio and the shop all together is quite a blessing. I know I take it for granted, but when I make the time to think about it......I am so grateful......

I'm sorry (I'm always saying that), I know I said I would upload pictures of the shop awhile back. And now here it is, what .....weeks later?!
I like this photo of the outside. It was a pretty evening and the sky was all pink and glowing.
I wish I would have gotten a better shot of it. It was gone so quickly!!

I won't promise this time but, photos of the inside and my latest work will come......

All I can say is thanks for your patience.

Have a Blessed and very Happy Thanksgiving

Susie

Glitterfest ....Right Around The Corner!!

Well...........what can I say? Obviously allot of time has gone by since my last post. I have been out of the loop...for sure. After many long delays due to illness and a multitude of other small "bumps" in the road I finally have my shop open!!! , a shop that has literally ( and I mean, literally,) been pulled out of thin air. However, I can't take the credit. I have had Divine power helping me. I know it! Anyway, will post pics later today or tomorrow. In the meantime.....Glitterfest is coming October 2nd (Click on pic for details). Hope to see you there! Need to go for now....Working on new goodies to take.

More Snow and Rain in the Forcast..... Yay?

Looking out one of the front windows of the shop

A view out of the back window and the little hallway where the water is seeping in

Normally I love the snow, but......
Here are a couple of pics I took yesterday. Not that great. It doesn't really give a good representation of how much it was really snowing and a blowing. A regular little blizzard we were having!
I also tried to get a shot of my attempt to mop up the flood waters. Landlord was here....he's kind of stumped on how the water is leaking in, but promised he would take care of it when the sun comes back. In the mean time, I'm running out of towels!!

Oh, thought I would throw in a pic of a little angel ornament I made from one of my drawings.
Kind of a reminder to myself that there are angels amongst us. Mustn't forget...........

A Minor Disaster?!

Well...........The long and the short of it is, that, I left the heater in the shop on full blast and then we were gone for a day. When we got home late that night I kept thinking the house (we live upstairs) was warmer that it should have been since it was still rather cold outside and the heater in the house wasn't on. Anyway, I decided to go down and check the store and.....it was pretty much like a SAUNA!
Not too cool when you have candles. The good side is, I don't have all of the candles out in the store yet as I am still not open (keep having "bumps" in the road). NOW today I am having a small flooding problem. Yesterday it rained and snowed all day.....and now it is seeping in (AGAIN) in the back of the shop. Landlord on his way.........
This will pass, right? And I will eventually have a lovely shop and Galerie!

Making Progress.....

View Looking back into shop from the front door

Shelf with some of the things I have been unpacking. Just kind of placed things haphazard at the moment. Will finesse later.

Table in front middle of shop with some spring items that may go here. We'll see

I have finally been able to put some full days in, working in the shop and I'm really making some progress! The shop is starting to take shape! Yay! Still have so much to do, but I am feeling rather optimistic today and am getting excited about opening. The pictures aren't that great right now. I've been taking them from my cell phone. Will get some better shots soon..........

Bye for now from one rather tired girlie,
Susie

Overwhelmed!

I have to say.....I am..........a....little......overwhelmed today! This is not how I planned this, really. If I'd had my choice, I would have done this move in an organized and systematic way (does this really happen.....ever??).
As I told you before, this all happened kind of fast and then I broke my ankle, got sick....wah wah wah.....
Anyway, you take help when it is offered. Don't get me wrong I am eternally grateful for loving and willing friends that helped (and continue to help) with this never ending move. But............all the boxes didn't really get packed and labeled like I wanted. Product for the shop and years of art and craft supplies are here and there and.....here...and there.....and here and there....ugh.
Good thing is, and there is always a good thing, I should be more organized and optimized and every other kind of mized (new word) than I have ever been!! Yay and hallelujah! So besides the shop being Bee-U-Tee-Ful, I should be more creative, right.... right?
Okay, back to work. Will write more later.

PS. I forgot to mention that while California was getting hit with storm after storm (I was there for the Gift and CHA shows (craft and hobby assoc.) Prescott had it's share as well. While Prescott was experiencing more than 8 inches of snow and 5 inches of rain in one day, my husband Don was experiencing a small deluge of water coming into the store. Luckily with a little help he was able to avert disaster. However, we are still trying to dry out!!

Just A Little Late!!

I really needed a tripod to get these night shots , but you get the idea.

It was really so much prettier

I had hoped to have my shop open for Christmas, but....well....things happened. However, I found out after moving here to Prescott, that Prescott is known as the "Christmas City of Arizona". And it is!! The old town Courthouse Square is decorated with, what has to be, thousands of lights!! All the trees in the old square glitter and sparkle in festive adornment. For weeks there is one event after another, and..... it seems, that most of the shops do their part and decorate with wild abandon! I'm sorry I missed it, but am looking forward to next year already!! Prescott doesn't know this yet but as my Dad always said, " Christmas is what Susie is known for", ha ha. I'm starting already!

Wow, Things Do Change!

A Digital rendering of what it may look like after it's makeover!

A Diamond in the rough!!

Well it's been a long while since I've been on my blog. I'm really sorry, but since before Thanksgiving my husband and I have had some big changes going on. We moved (which is a whole other story and a long one). I know that's the kind of thing I should share with everyone and I will try harder in the future to do that, but sometime (most of the time) when something major happens I just sort of go into a hiding mode.
Anyway, the good thing is that I'm opening a shop! Yes, yes yes! a cute little Gallery and shop in Prescott, Arizona. Named appropriately, Susie Scott Studios- La Petite Galerie. This all happened rather fast so I'm still getting adjusted, but I am finding that this is a very cool little area. I will write more about that later.
Back to the shop. Here are a couple of pics. A diamond in the rough right now. But, oh....the possibilities! My studio is going to be part of the shop. So I will be working on my art and other fun things right in the store. The look and feel will be....what else....Pretty and Girlie and Glittery....
Kind of shabby with chippy painted things. My Original art, Recycled Treasures, Jewelry, French Soaps, Hand-Poured Candles, etc. etc.
And.........another huge plus....My Husband and I will be able to live in an apartment upstairs!!

I'm going to go for now, I'm out and about finding more treasures. I will keep you posted. Promise!

Warm regards,

Susie
