New (sirene) Mermaid
A new piece of artwork I did. I used a variety of techniques on this one. It was fun to do. I feel pretty happy with it. One little note for Faerie Zine fans......My mermaid looks a little like Lisa Kettell to me. What do you think?

Get Well Book!
Recently I was sick and hospitalized and to my utter surprise and amazement some of the sweet gals from my Flickr Faerie Zine group got together and created this beautiful "Get Well" book for me!
Each person did a page and sent it to Lisa Kettell who bound it all together and created the covers and can you believe...she put "To the Great Susie Scott" on the front? I don't know about that but, I know that these gals are all great that's for sure!
Here is a list of all the artists that participated in creating this lovely book for me. They are all just so talented and creative. I am amazed every time I open it!
This is Lisa's page. How sweet is this?! She must have an inkling that the Campbell kids art style is right up my alley! I wonder where she ever got that idea....
This page by JoAnn is so cute. I wish you could actually see how the little paper dolls come out of the page. So cute too, how they are each holding a word.
Bridget's page is so, so sweet. I love how she matched the sentiment to the picture, about hoping I would be up for a stroll soon..... I am, and I need to get out and do more of it except it's so hot here right now (phoenix)!!
Here's Gina's page. The colors, the bird and the little girl are all just too sweet for words! So cheerful, it couldn't help but make me feel better! Your a sweetie Gina.
Cindy did this darling dancing ballerina. I love the inspirational words she added to it, the embellishments...everything. I've seen Miracles too Cindy and you helped me see more of them!
How clever is this page by Lee? I love the bird in the dress giving cake, of all things, to another little birdie. So sweet and cheerful. By the way, cake is one of my favorite things!
What can I say about Wanda's page? I just keep thinking sweet over and over! Love the picture, love the glitter and lace.....just love it!
Dani's page is cute and sweet and she added a note as well. It tells how her son, Austin didn't think it was cheery enough so he insisted she add more glitter. I say thanks and right on to Austin! You just can't have enough glitter, huh Austin?
Vivian, I love your page too. The monkeys are so bright and cheerful. Red is my color. Your embellishments were perfect for this too. Thanks for helping to cheer me up. I appreciate it so much!
Mary Ann's page was just so creative and cute. I love how she created this little "Get Well Soon" dollie!
Such a cutie pie...the dollie and you too Mary Ann!
Such a cutie pie...the dollie and you too Mary Ann!
This page by Sandy is just too much!! It was such a fun surprise how she took the pic of my husband and I from my blog and did this page. I love, love, love it. And how clever...the road sign. The road to recovery! This great page sure helped add to my recovery. Thanks again Sandy.
What could be more sweet than this page by Eileen? Hearts with butterfly wings! This book and this page sure gave my heart wings! The sparkles and glitter certainly helped as well!
I thank you from my heart....
I thank you from my heart....
Debb, Sparkles and glitter galore! As Rachel Ray says, "YUMO"! This page rates number one in the "Bling"department. I think you must be the Queen of Bling and I love it!! Thanks to you and your little fairy too!
Michelle, thank your for your sweet and thoughtful page and thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers too. Love the charm and the ribbons and butterflies...everything!
Just want to thank all of you again for sending me this treasure! And a special thanks and hug to Lisa who just blows me away all the time, not only with her talent but with her amazing energy and zest and thoughtfulness. I never knew that when I signed on to flickr that it would turn into a blessing as well. You have all blessed me and I thank you again, from the bottom of my heart.
Love and hugs to you all,
Susie

New Tags in my Etsy Shop
This was fun... I created some new tags from a Marie Antoinette inspired, little illustration I did of a sweet "Marie" Birdcage lady.
With a little birdie resting on her arm, I thought I would add some words of friendship,
Ami Doux - Sweet Friend in French.
I recently saw the Marie Antoinette film with Kirsten Dunst. And while the movie wasn't that great (in my opinion) It certainly was a feast for the eyes! Eye Candy overload for sure. I will watch this one over and over again!!
Faerie Zine Princess & The Pea Hat Swap 2008
I'm a little late getting these pics posted, but here is the hat I received from my swap partner, Debb George (check out her blog- www.debksg.blogspot.com. It is very lovely and is being modeled by my big Teena Flanner (original) bunny. I think it is quite becoming on her, don't you?
Thanks again Debb, You did a great job!

I'm Still Here!
Wow, it's been awhile since I posted anything. Kind of been out of commission...for a variety of reasons- The latest being, I was in the hospital! It is sort of a long story, but I will condense...
It started with some kind of flu virus that my husband Don and I both came down with (if any of you have ever been sick the same time as your husband...trust me...it is not fun...no one wants to wait on the other etc. etc.). Anyway, then during this time I thought I had a kidney stone and then it was down hill from there and I kept feeling worse. Sooooo.....back to the doctor and after blood work etc. they felt I had some kind of hepatitis and admitted me to the hospital. I was one sick girl. In the hospital they did all kinds of tests and took my vitals (which were pretty good really, I told the Doctor that my vital signs felt better than I did) and couldn't figure out what was going on.... respiratory, kidney, liver, chronns disease flare-up....what?! Well, turns out I had some of all of these at the same time. How about that? I call it the "Perfect Storm"! But....my ending does turn out better than that movie, that's for sure.
To sum it up....after being fed plenty of fluids and antibiotics via I.V. I started getting better and am home now. Yay!
The good thing... I have a much better appreciation for all things. For my husband and my home, for my friends and family and for taking better care of myself. Being in the hospital reminded me that, that's not where I want to be! I also was reminded by God, that he is close by and taking care of me. He is an awesome God! and I am privileged and humbled to belong to Him!

itty bitty robin's egg blue book swap
Here are some of my 31 pages I did for the itty bitty robin's egg blue book swap hosted by Mary Ann of Follow Your Bliss . The swap is a collaboration of 31 artists creating and embellishing 31 pages that will be bound into 31 mini books. Each bound book then will be sent to each individual artist that participated. It has been so much fun being part of this swap and I'm so excited to see our finished project. Will post more pictures then.

ACE of Diamonds!?
I took this little personality test today. It determines what kind of playing card you would be based on your answers. Ace of Diamonds was my result. I don't know, but I do know one thing.... I wish I looked like this little ace of diamonds illustration! You are the ACE of Diamonds! |
- You are a lucky person, and you always seem to find yourself surrounded by pretty, shiny things. ( This I like) - You have a knack for success and money though your skills can't really be learned or taught. (I'm self-taught that's for sure) - You shine in a room, and you a have a truly sparkling personality. (Sparkle, Sparkle) - A true extrovert, you always are able to share a witty joke or the latest scandalous gossip. (Not gossip.....information!) - While you do have an eye for bling, you are also quite generous. (Hey, I thought I was selfish! Oh wait a minute, that's what my enemies think) - A lot of wealth and luck comes your way. And you're not afraid to pass it on. (Ok wealth, I'm ready!) - A gamble you should take: Sports betting (That's what I've been doing wrong!) - Your friends would describe you as: Captivating (I have nice friends!) - Your enemies would describe you as: Greedy(Awww, not me! See above...I'm generous) - If you lived in Vegas, you would be: A trophy wife or husband (Now this one makes me laugh!) |

One of Those Days...
Did you ever have one of "those days" where you just don't feel.....creative? You almost think you may never feel creative again? That's me today. So, I took a photo I had of myself in which, I think I'm looking a little frustrated and pasted some of my characters into it with me. I was kind of surprised because it ended up making me feel better and reminded me that they will all still be there and that maybe I just need a little....... break.
Let's see now.....where is all that stuff I need to get listed on ebay and etsy anyway!?

California Here We Come!
My husband Don and I are off to good old California today to attend a friends wedding. Hopefully, along the way we will take some great photos that I can use in my artwork. We are also huge Hot dog fans and will be on the "hot dog hunt" for great hot dog stands. In fact, check out Don's new blog at www.hotdogkids.blogpot.com. It is everything and anything you could ever want to know about hot dogs! See you when we get back on Tuesday.
I really relish you all! (hee hee)

Faerie Zine Award
This was fun little project to work on. The Flickr "Faerie Zine" group uses these little pieces of art to give to people as a token to show that their art and photos are enjoyed and appreciated. Lisa Kettell (http://faerieenchantment.blogspot.com/) who administers the Faerie Zine group had a little contest going to create more awards. However, there are so many great ones I think we are going to eventually use them all. Sounds good to me. I mean, you can never have too many awards can you?

Vintage Valentine Swap
I have been participating in a Vintage Valentine Swap with my Faerie Zine Group on Flickr.
I finally got my Valentines done and ready to ship. This is a photo of the packages on the shipping table. Just a sneak-peek for now until my partners receive them. I don't want to spoil the surprise!
Ms.Tomato was overseeing the project and making sure I got them shipped. How sweet!
This is my first swap and it's been fun. Besides that, how can you not have fun creating Valentines? Red is also my very favorite color. What more can I ask for?

Thanks
Hi Everyone,
I just want to say a Thank you to everyone for the nice compliments on my work. It means so much to me. Even more so since I am pretty new to posting and selling my own work on line. I am constantly blown away by the community of such talent. I am very grateful I found it and am excited to now be a part of it.
I can't thank everyone enough for all their encouragement and support over the last few months.
I am currently working away on new ideas and trying to get more pieces done. So have to get back to it.
With my sincere and humble thanks,
Susie
